Interesting technical detail: WhizNote is a 16-bit program. I developed WhizNote in Windows 3.1 days. I tweaked it for the first time to support long file names when Windows 95 was released. With each new Windows release, I kept tweaking it to make sure that it still runs. All that was made possible by developing a 32-bit DLL that uses the wonderful thunking mechanism in Windows. It’s a tribute to Microsoft to make all this technology available to the developers. However, things have changed since 64-bit Windows (especially Windows 7) has become popular. WhizNote won’t run on 64-bit Windows. I plan to rerelease a 32-bit version of WhizNote in the coming months. This will be based on WhizFolders, my new product.
